Rolling along...

Life has really taken off in the month of Jauary. We have been quite busy and the near future is looking much of the same!

We had a farewell on friday night, a fantastic braai on Saturday afternoon, church and a farewell soccer match on sunday where we gave the Stirling Baptist team 4-1...although they did help us bigtime when 2 of their guys collided and had to off to hospital. Not nice. We had great pancakes last night and now it is monday!

Looking ahead we have a week of prayer and fasting, followed by a production of the book of Song of Songs... I am singing a bit and Tess is doing some reading. After that we are going away to Morgans Bay for the weekend with the Thompsons and the first weekedn of March will see us a way on a church camp which will be awesome.... We will also be in CT for the long weekend at the end of April for 2 weddings!! We are trusting GOD for the provision and the way to get down there!

While we were in Cape Town I heard the Lord speak to me about 2007 being the year of the platform... where ceilings in our lives become platforms. I have recently noticed that all the ceilings in our life suddenly look bigger, stronger and more limiting than ever before! We are trusting GOD for breakthrough in a number of areas..

Less clutter...more stillness.

I laughed till I cried...

If you are having trouble reading the comic strip due to it being a little on the small side just double-click on it and it will open up a bit bigger....

First week back...

Time has really flown. It seems like just yesterday Tess and I were looking forward to our break in CT and now that time seems like it was ages ago!

Our first week back was a good one. Reconnecting with our EL friends and getting back into the work thing. Tess's first week at work was nice and gentle, I think..., she seems to think she should have been going at 120km/h already!! Anyway she will find out more as there are planning meetings happening this week. My first week went well. I have a couple of projects to run with that are fairly exciting which is a good thing!

This past weekend we had a boerewors braai on the banks of the Nahoon river on Friday evening which was awesome. The weather was great, the water nice and warm and the company great! Saturday we had our little friend Ruth's 2yr birthday party which was good. Saturday afternon we went for a swim at Nahoon beach and in the river with Den, Ruth and the dogs.

Sunday we had an awesome church meeting, the preaching was red-hot and full of revelation!

Sunday evening we got back into the pancake swing at theThompsons, with the Fyvies and 3 community service girls who have just moved here from various parts of the country for their year.

Other rather interesting news is that we are currently pool and 1 x house plant sitting. Our landlord is on holiday and asked me to water one plant....and we must please use his pool. Very nice I tell you with the humidity and heat we have swum almost everyday. What a blessing!

December break

Well we had a really great time in Cape Town reconnecting with friends and family. Our current proximity to our old place of residence has definately given Tess and I a deep appreciation of the enormous value of our relationships and support structure we enjoy from different parts of South Africa!! The weather was great and we managed to sneak in a couple of days at one of favorite places, Bettys Bay....oh ja...I also turned 23......ok....28!!

We are now adjusting to being back in EL and for the first couple of days we have been quite sad at having to leave CT.

I am back at work and Tess has started her new job so we are quickly getting into the swing and routine of life here.

We both feel that 2007 is going to be a year of standing taller and seeing further, ceilings becoming platforms, character sharpened and things released. May it be so.
