Bittersweet...

Well last night was a night of many things, many emotions and many things….! It was the Fyvies farewell as they do their final movements in EL before heading to PE for a couple of weeks and then destination UK for an period as yet unknown…Jeremiah 10:23. So it was bitter as we lose friends in the sense of being able to see them, spend time with them and do life together. It was sweet in that it is an exciting period for them as go forward into a new season of travel, new cultures and a sense of a spreading of wings.

The evening itself was all sweet….ok…the bitter part was the cricket…bygones! It is said that a nation can be born in a day well I think a nation of Sri Lankan supporters was born in an evening… Anyway back to the sweet evening. The ladies went out for dinner together at Café Avanti. The boys, here’s the sweet part, had a number of sweet things happening simultaneously. Due to the proximity of the Rautenbach’s and the George’s TV sets the following was possible at the same time…

  1. A braai.
  2. The cricket…Aus vs SA
  3. UEFA Champions League…Chelsea vs Liverpool
  4. Sony Playstation…Need for speed and Tekken

Got home really late, packed for our trip to Cape Town….got to bed really really late….around 1am. Up at 6am to just make it to work and am now counting down the hours till we FLY….

Three praiseworthy things…I finished my assignment, I finished recording a couple of songs and Tess finished her really BIG puzzle!! Yes Lord!!!

Quick Update

Yes it has been a long long time since I updated this page. Here is the nutshell of what has been happening.

Work has been busy for both of us and very rewarding which is great. After hours I am currently laying down 3 new tracks and have an assignment due. Those things need to be done by next Thursday when we fly to CT for a 10 day break. Tess is doing a really big really difficult puzzle!

In CT we are attending 2 weddings , seeing 1 new baby and catching up with our connections there. Family is a priority and we will be putting in a lot of time with them.

Church life is cranking at the moment as GOD positions, refines and prepares us as we have just launched into 21weeks of focused prayer followed by a 21day fast. We are crying out to the Lord for Him to heal our land......

We seek You for our land
We choose to take a stand
In this our generation
O God touch our nation

We seek Your face O God
We will pay the cost
To see Your Kingdom come
O God heal our nation

We'll see the nations come
To the light of Your Son
As the earth sees Your glory
O God let it be
O God let it be

Extreme Sports

Saturday afternoon we headed on down to the beach with the temperature being about 30degrees. Well the beach was about 10degrees with water being about the same. So off to the Raut’s place for a dip the pool. The garden and pool position is perfect for a bit of extreme frisbee….ok… it’s not really that extreme but for a couple of late 20’s early 30’s guys with something to prove about their pristine physical condition it was extreme…..

It turns out that my face has a mind of its own and just to show I am not too proud to lose face I will publish the cropped “un-tampered with” close-ups.

Thanks to Gaylene for the brilliant accurate photography.....I think. Below see picture in context and corresponding facial expression....nations.
